Foreign Office, August 9, 1910. I AM directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 30th ultimo, enclosing a telegram from the Government of India, with reference to the visit of a Chinese official to the Hkamti-Löng country, and proposing the dispatch thither in November or December next of a civil officer with an escort of military police to assert British supremacy in a formal manner.
Sir E. Grey concurs in the reply which Viscount Morley proposes to return to the Government of India.
